7 The National Technical Museum in Prague In the immense space of the museum, among the unique exhibits you can experience the history of automobile, motorcycle, aviation, and marine or rail transport in the Czech lands. Additionally, you can visit expositions of Printing, Photographic Studio, Chemistry Around Us, Time Measuring, Metallurgy and Mining, Intercamera, Playful Technology, Architecture, Civil Engineering and Design or exposition of Television Studio. 10 Mining and metallurgy have been a part of Czech tradition since the Middle Ages. In North Moravian Ostrava, which is famous for mining, a unique adventure park was built. You can view furnaces, experience first-hand the feelings of a miner, from changing clothes in historical chain changing rooms or taking an authentic journey down the pit, to the miner’s journey to the underground workings. You can experience a ride in the original carts pulled by a functional mining locomotive, which were used for transporting people in the mine. Experienced miners will guide you through the 250 m of mine tunnels. In the popular-science centres of the Big and Small World of Technology, you will learn interesting scientific and technological facts in a fun way, complete with the mystery of inventions from the steam engine to present. Lovers of industrial monuments will enjoy the Techno Route in Ostrava.
