Luhačovice, huddled in the foothills of the White Carpathians, in a beautiful valley surrounded by magnificent countryside, is the largest and most famous spa town in Moravia with 300 years tradition. This spa site has even been nominated for registration on the UNESCO World Heritage List. A Fairy-Tale Spa Town Luhačovice is a spa town with a truly fairy-tale atmosphere. This is underlined and co-created by both the surrounding countryside and the unique architecture, which adds charm and personality. Luhačovice can thank architect Dušan Jurkovič, whose work is classed as “Folk Art Nouveau” and falls under the early 20th century. His houses are like nothing else; they are absolutely original and very picturesque. There are 16 kinds of acidulous mineral water and one sulphur spring. Every hour 15,000 litres of mineral water, considered among the most effective in Europe for its high mineral content and excellent gasification of free carbon dioxide, gushes out of the ground here. The beneficial and therapeutic natural mineral springs, headed by worldfamous Vincentka, have been tried and tested over the three hundred years of the spa’s existence.
