The Czech Republic is a promised land for active tourism. Crossing the entire country by bike today is really not a problem. After all, the Czech Republic is currently criss-crossed by a barely believable 37,000 kilometres of cycle paths! Cycle routes, i.e. protected, separate routes for cyclists only in the Czech Republic today measure 2,000 kilometres. Cycle routes are connected to a still improving network of facilities, from restaurants and kiosks to bike servicing centres, accommodation and educational elements in the form of information boards, maps and notices of local attractions. and long-distance cycle routes are often integrated into the EUROVELO network. Winter offers ideal conditions for skiing – for crosscountry skiers, the Czech Republic is a genuine paradise and also offers surprising opportunities to lovers of downhill skiing. Indeed, today 289 ski resorts are in operation! Crosscountry trails combine with thousands of kilometres of beautiful countryside, while the facilities of downhill resorts improve in quality every year.
