Strahov Monastery Fire Strahov Monastery burnt down, together with all the surrounding buildings, having been set on fire due to the carelessness of one monk who hadn't extinguished a light properly. 1291. Lesser Town Fire Malá Strana (Lesser Town) completely burnt down due to carelessness on St. Ambrose Eve. None of the houses were left standing. The King exempted all those aggrieved from paying taxes and granted them other privileges as well.
