Újezd Gate Monastery Fire Defenders of the royal castle against the people of Malá Strana set fire to the Town Hall, having plundered it first. It burnt down together with the neighbouring houses. Similarly, they set fire to the school of St. Nicholas close to St. Wenceslas Chapel, and some more houses beneath the castle. 1420 Lesser Town Fire The Hussites set fire to the Saxon house at Malá Strana, house of the Archbishop and one other house and, as a consequence, Malá Strana together with the monastery that bears the name Maltese today and the St. Thomas Monastery burnt down. Then they set fire to St. Mary Magdalene Convent in the Újezd area and later to the whole of Újezd. The same year, they burnt Strahov Monastery, most churches and monasteries in the New as well as Old Town and later turned Vyšehrad to ashes. 1431 Peter's Water Tower Fire Peter's Water Tower burnt down in the summer after the fire started at the bottom. In the same summer, on Saturday, it was St. Peter's and Paul Eve, thunderbolt set fire to the truss of St. Giles Church, and the truss and small as well as big bells were destroyed within four hours. 1444 Zderaz Municipal Mill Fire On Monday after the second Sunday of Lent, the municipal mill at the neighbourhood of Zderaz and all the grain in the Šlajferní barns burnt down. 1446. Bethlehem House Fire. It was on a Wednesday, St. Wenceslas night, that the Bethlehem House burnt down due to the carelessness of the priest in the duty of caretaker who had not snuffed out a candle properly and had thrown it among clothes. Bedsheets caught fire and a bigger part of the house burnt down. Had the door leading to the church not been closed, the church would have burnt down, too.
