7 MAP Jaselská street 7/9 An outstanding Czech educational institute; Janáček closely participated in its activities for many years. Vesna was founded in 1870, originally as a singing club. Soon, it began to strive for spreading education among women in Brno in the Czech language. Vesna soon become an important learning centre which cooperated with various representatives of cultural life – artists, writers and musicians, including Leoš Janáček who gave several lectures there. The school was attended by Janáček's daughter Olga, and Janáček's wife Zdenka helped organise some school activities.
