Only one, the largest, synagogue maior dating from the first half of the 17th century has survived to this day. Its builder was a Boskovice burgher Sylvester Fiota, who came from Chiavenna, Italy. In the entrance hall there is still a stone basin, the so-called kijor for ritual hand washing, and three money boxes where Jews used to put their financial contributions. It was built on the site of an earlier wooden Renaissance building.
