Jihočeský kraj Český Krumlov The impressive castle complex in Český Krumlov has earned its place on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The site was originally developed by the Vítkovec family, rebuilt in the Renaissance style by the Rožmberks and contains 41 buildings both residential and auxiliary. Apart from the usual Renaissance interiors and Baroque chambers you can also visit other interesting spaces. The real gem is the Baroque era theatre complete with preserved original costumes, sets and props. The Castle Museum has its own unique character, original displays and is opened year round and from there you can also climb to the lookout stand of the castle tower.
