Jihočeský kraj Třeboň Třeboň began its existence as a small town castle used by the Rožmberk family during their occasional visits of their Třeboň domain. After a fi re in 1562 Vilém of Rožmberk ordered it to be gradually rebuilt in the Renaissance style. You can visit the Renaissance interiors, an alchemist’s laboratory, the kunstkomora or the ladies’ quarters. On the fi rst fl oor you can see the more soberly furnished private rooms of the Schwarzenberg family. The third tour route leads you through the stables, the hounds’ kitchen and the system of underground passages. Nearby you can also visit the Treboňsko House of Nature and learn about the protected natural reserve (UNESCO).
