Jihočeský kraj Zlatá Koruna The former Cistercian monastery in Zlatá Koruna was founded by Přemysl Ottokar II. and is one of the best preserved Gothic monasteries in Bohemia. The unique Guardian Angel chapel, the chapter hall and the ambulatory are prime examples of Cistercian architecture. The main tour route leads visitors through the Great and Small Convent and culminates in the church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary – the biggest church in South Bohemia. The tour shows both the day to day reality in the order, invites you into the monastery library, the studies and the refectory. The second tour route offers an interactive display presenting the literary traditions of south Bohemia and the connections between Czech, German and Latin scholarship. From 2013 you can also see the newly restored Gothic chapel of St. George. +420 380 743 126 www.klaster-zlatakoruna.cz zlatakoruna@npu.cz
