Jihomoravský kraj Veveří One of the largest castles in the country was formed gradually during its eight hundred years‘ history. It started as a small hunting lodge or maybe even just a fort of the Moravian margraves and was fi rst written about in 1213. Veveří as a real stone castle was probably built just before the 1250s. The castle was extensively rebuilt after 1350 during the reign of Moravian margrave Jan Jindřich (younger brother of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV.) who made Veveří one of his main residences. +420 549 420 164 veveri@npu.cz www.hrad-veveri.cz
