Královéhradecký kraj Kuks The hospice used to be a monastery of the Brothers Hospitallers and seved as an institution for veterans. It was built in the beginning of 18th century by Count František Antonín Špork as a part of a large complex formed by a spa a palace and other buildings. The famous sculptor Matyáš Bernard Braun was one of the artists whose work appears here, most famously his allegorical sculptures of Virtues and Vices. During the guided tours you can see the original sculptures as well as the interior of the monastery church of the Holy Trinity, a Baroque era pharmacy or visit the tomb of the Counts Špork. Afterwards you can have arest in the monastery garden or take a walk to the nearby ‘Bethlehem’ where Matyáš Bernard Braun carved several of his masterpieces into the natural local rock. +420 724 663 535 kuks@npu.cz www.hospital-kuks.cz
