Liberecký kraj Frýdlant Originally a medieval castle added a Renaissance palace in 16th century and was from 1622 owned by the famous military leader Albrecht Wallenstein who made it the centre of his large Frýdlant duchy. Last noble owners of the castle were the Clam-Gallas family who opened the grounds to the public in 1801 and made Frýdlant the fi rst castle based museum in Central Europe. You can visit castle interiors (Albrecht Wallenstein memorabilia, the Knights’ Hall, the armoury, the overseer’s offi ce, the pipe collection) and the palace interiors (state rooms, ladies’ and gentlemen’s chambers, the nursery, historical bathroom and the kitchen and scullery.
