Liberecký kraj Trosky The silhouette of this picturesque ruin of a Gothic castle built in the 14th century by the lords of Vartenberk is one of the main images of the Bohemian Paradise region. The castle was built on two steep granite promontories and was impregnable, even the Hussite army was unsuccessful. It was time that slowly turned this castle into ruin after it was abandoned in late 15th century. Because of the romantic atmosphere and unique look it became a popular tourist attraction in 19th century. Today’s visitors have the opportunity to learn about its rich history, climb up the main castle tower called the Crone or to the lookout underneath the second tower – the Maiden. In the summer it hosts historic fencing performances and other events. +420 602 342 627 trosky@npu.cz www.hrad-trosky.eu
