Moravskoslezský kraj Hradec nad Moravicí Built above the confl uence of the Moravice River and the Hradečná stream in the northeast part of the Nízký Jeseník highlands the site and the stronghold that stood there was fi rst mentioned in mid-11th century. After a fi re in mid-13th century king Přemysl Ottokar II. began a grand construction of a new Gothic castle, that was later rebuilt in the Renaissance, Baroque and Empire style which turned it into the residence you see today.
