Olomoucký kraj Jánský Vrch The chateau on a rocky hill above the town is a natural dominant feature of Javorník and the fl at land around the Polish towns of Paczkow, Otmuchow and Nisa. The fi rst records of Chateau Jánský Vrch date back to 1307; they refer to Castle Javorník, gradually rebuilt to the current design. The history of the chateau is tightly connected to the episcopate in Wroclaw, Poland, which owned the building (with the whole Jeseník region) from 1348 on. The interior of the castle, usually fi tted with the original 19th century furniture, is a good show of lifestyle and hobbies of the church aristocracy. The gas lighting system of the rooms and the grand courtyard is special from the technological point of view. Also the collection of the soft furnishings is remarkable, especially the original curtains, up to 180 years old +420 584 440 286 janskyvrch@npu.cz www.zamek-janskyvrch.cz
