Plzeňský kraj Kladruby The Benedictine monastery was founded in the 1100s by Duke Vladislav I. The dominant structure is the Assumption of the Virgin Mary church rebuilt by architect Jan Blažej Santini Aichel in his distinctive Gothic-Baroque style. The other important building is the new convent designed by Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer. You can choose between two tour routes which present the religious signifi cance of the site and its later repurposing as a noble residence. The church is a popular venue for concerts. There is also special programming like the Benedictine Days, historic fairs and Christmas events. Another part of the monastery is the Scent Archive which is a permanent exhibition of aromatics, scents and perfumes. +420 374 631 773 kladruby@npu.cz www.klaster-kladruby.cz
