Plzeňský kraj Rabí The ruins of castle Rabí is a largest site of its kind in Bohemia and it you can still see one of the most advanced fortifi cation systems of its time in Europe. The lords of Rýzmberk were one of the most powerful noble families in late Gothic era Bohemia and they chose it as their family seat. The Hussite military leader Jan Žižka of Trocnov famously lost his second eye during an attempted siege of the castle. The two tour routes can take you either to the palace and the oubliette or up the donjon (tower) and into the large cellars. From the tower you can admire the view and a second lookout point opened in 2014 offers more unexpected views of the castle and surrounding areas. You can also spend some time in one of the exhibition spaces in the castle or in the church of the Holy Trinity. +420 376 596 171 rabi@npu.cz www.hrad-rabi.eu
