Středočeský kraj Březnice The Renaissance residence was created by a reconstruction of an earlier medieval structure and became witness to a secret wedding of Ferdinand of Tyrol and Philipina Welser. The Renaissance Lokšany Library is the oldest castle library hall in the country. The castle is surrounded by a fortifi cation system designed by Benedikt Ried of Pístov in early 16th century. The early Baroque chapel was built in 1632 by Carlo Lurago. Behind the castle there is an English style park. Evening concerts, the summer ball in the courtyard and the advent events became a new tradition. After touring the castle you can also visit the Březnice synagogue for a reduced price. This unique Baroque era building was fi nished in 1728, renovated in 2014 and is situated in the Jewish quarter Lokšany which is one of the best preserved Jewish architectural complexes in the Czech Republic. +420 318 682 179 breznice@npu.cz www.zamek-breznice.cz
