Středočeský kraj Invalidovna Invalidovna (House of War Veterans) is one of the most remarkable Baroque buildings in Prague, combining the superior prowess of architect Kilian Ignatius Dientzenhofer and the visionary social ideas of Count Peter Strozzi. The building, funded by the foundation established by Count Strozzi, was built between 1731 and 1737 to help disabled war veterans. Even now, it is a monumental set of buildings; part of it now opens to public. The guided tour enables visitors to learn about the history of the building and the establishment of Strozzi Foundation, and also about the ordinary life of its inhabitants since the mid-18th century. The visitors may also see the original living quarters of war veterans, very original in architectural terms. +420 724 816 966 invalidovna@npu.cz www.invalidovna-praha.cz
