Středočeský kraj Krakovec Krakovec is the pinnacle of the evolution of Bohemian castle architecture and stands design-wise between a castle and a palace. The church reformer Jan Hus stayed there before he left for the Council of Constance where he was later burned at the stake for heresy against the doctrines of the Church. Today the whole site is opened to the public. You can take a guided tour or explore the castle on your own and admire unique Gothic elements, an oriel window chapel, a semicircular tower and the intersection of architecture and nature. To get to the castle you will walk over a wooden bridge constructed according to late medieval principals. Krakovec hosts poetry symposiums, plays, concerts, church services and the Hus pilgrimage. +420 313 549 302 krakovec@npu.cz www.hrad-krakovec.cz
