Středočeský kraj Zbečno A village farm with a timbered house, brick cowsheds, stables and granary, barn and dower house was built close to the Křivoklát castle in a village that dates into the early years of the Přemyslid dynasty. Zbečno was an administrative centre of the royal forest and a king’s stronghold before this responsibility was taken over by Křivoklát castle. The buildings’ age is unique – the above ground oak structure, forming the base of the lower parlour, is from late 16th century. The chambers are fi r and are dated 1579 and 1756, youngest is the roof structure from late 18th century. The permanent exhibition presents traditional crafts and the way of life on a village farm. On Saturdays the tours include bread baking in a traditional bread oven.
