Ústecký kraj Házmburk Two majestic towers of the ruins of castle Házmburk form a dominant silhouette in the region. The castle was built on a solitary basalt outcrop in mid-13th century by the Lichtenburk family and later expanded by the Zajíc family. An exhibition showing the castle in its 14th century phase is presented in the polygonal lookout tower. The round, lower based second tower used to be used as a prison and is called the Black Tower based on the dark local basalt it is built from. The rectangular White Tower is built from light coloured sandstone. The castle is opened from April to November and hosts a number of fun events. +420 606 175 052 hazmburk@npu.cz www.hrad-hazmburk.cz
