Ústecký kraj Jezeří This medieval castle was later rebuilt as a Baroque masterpiece. From fi rst half of 17th century it was the main seat of the Lobkowicz family. Ferdinand Filip Lobkowicz was a great admirer of C.P.E. Bach and a patron of Ch.W. Gluck. Count F.M. Lobkowicz founded his own orchestra with 22 members and Beethoven’s third symphony Eroica was fi rst performed here. The castle was slated for demolition as late as the 1980s to make way for a coal mining operation but thanks to civic initiatives it was saved. The castle has 244 rooms and a famous theatre – a witness to a marvellous cultural event reminding us of values that prevail. The famous musical past is made present every year during the Summer of Music in Jezeří festival. +420 724 326 031 jezeri@npu.cz www.zamek-jezeri.cz
