Ústecký kraj Krásné Březno Originally a Lutheran chapel of the Virgin Mary was built in 1597-1606 by Rudolf of Bünau. The church is a unique structure in the style of the Saxon Renaissance as seen in the rib tracery vault, the diamond portals and the window tracery. The unique Renaissance altar is decorated with alabaster reliefs made in 1604 showing scenes from the life of Christ and the coats of arms of the church’s founders. The pulpit must have been just as impressive but only a wooden canopy decorated with allegory of faith and alabaster reliefs with Passion motifs was preserved. There are two permanent exhibitions – one about the history, furnishings, archaeology, iconography and the renovation of the church and the other one about the craftsmanship and art of our ancestors. +420 472 704 800 florian@npu.cz www.kostel-krasnebrezno.cz
