The second UNESCO biosphere site in Southern Bohemia, Třeboňsko, is also exceptionally valuable. Although it is a landscape that has been altered by man over the centuries with over 500 fish ponds and artificial canals, it is an area where exceedingly rare natural values have been preserved.
