In the past he used to play in the Pittsburgh Penguins, the New York Rangers, the Boston Bruins or the New Jersey Devils. For a short time he played in Russia in Avangard Omsk. His career as a hockey player started in Kladno in the hockey club which he owns now. During his career he became the World Champion, he won the Olympic medal and the Stanley Cup in NHL. Thanks to all of these achievements he is ranked among the so-called Triple Gold Club which is the list of players who received the mentioned prizes. Currently, he is on the 5th place in the statistics of the career leader in Canadian NHL. Petr Čech (1982) Petr Čech (or Big Pete, as the English fans nicknamed him) started his professional career as a football player in Blšany from where he moved to Sparta and then abroad. From the Stade Rennais FC he got to the London Chelsea FC where he plays at the present time. In the 2006/07 season, during the match against Reading he sustained a head injury and underwent surgery for a depressed skull fracture. He had a long recovery and since then wears a helmet for goalkeepers which cannot be easily overlooked. During his career he managed to get the title of Premier League, the FA Cup, the Capital One Cup and UEFA Champions League. Emil Zátopek (1923 – 2000) Emil Zátopek was a Czech sportsman and four-time Olympic winner in long-distance run. He had five siblings and he was born in Kopřivnice. At a young age Zátopek worked at Tomáš Baťa factory and then he got fully engaged in running. He was the first man who managed to finish a 10 km long run in less than 29 minutes. Zátopek was phenomenal in his times. He became famous thanks to the Olympic Games in 1952 held in Helsinki. Won three golden medals – in 5000 metres, then in his strongest discipline 10,000 metres and finally in the Marathon, which he had never run before in his life. Nowadays he is one of the best athletes in history – nicknamed the Czech Locomotive. Roman Koudelka (1989) He is a promising ski jumper who debuted at the age of 17 in the World cup. At that time he ended up at 42nd and one year later he improved and was already 17th. Native of Turnov competes for the club called LSK Lomnice nad Popelkou and he is trained by Tomáš Portyk. Koudelka participated twice at the Winter Olympics and that was in 2010 in Vancouver and 2014 in Sochi. His best achievement is regarded the win in the individuals world competition.
