His most celebrated images are the stylised portraits of Egon Schiele, featuring the artist in unnatural, staged compositions. Trčka also authored numerous portraits of representatives of Austrian and Czech Modern art and figural images with a Symbolist content. He devoted special attention to the theme of dance.
