For a while she lived in Paris, moving later to Prague and eventually to Berlin, where she lived from 1902 to 1914. Afterwards, she returned to Bohemia and spent the rest of her life there. Her broad interests in applied art began in the 1880s. During her Berlin stay, she actively engaged in making glass designs that were implemented by the Lötz glassworks. They were predominantly for glass with restrained geometric forms and austere décor, as shown by this object.
