OBJECTS Interiors and the Art of Furniture Design Vase, 1898 Josef Klimeš (1875–1899), Prague Bronze, cast, chased; height 52 cm This large vase with a raised relief landscape scene and a figural motif is decorated with iris motifs, with their flowers forming two handles. Josef Klimeš was a very promising young Czech artist, who studied in the painting studio under Celestýn Klouček at the School of Applied Arts in Prague and the decorative sculpture studio at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris.
