The Cyclists Welcome certification for accommodation and catering facilities, or tourist destinations, guarantees a good quality of services. The “smiling bike” logo also guarantees safe bicycle storage, equipment for bicycle repairs and cleaning, clothes washing and drying, and other useful services. www.cyklistevitani.cz With a bike in public trans Most long-distance cycling trails in the Czech Republic are well-connected to the railways. The public transportation system also connects the regions with neighbouring countries – there is direct service with bicycles from Berlin, Munich, Dresden, Hamburg, Vienna, Graz, Linz, Bratislava, Košice, Žilina and Warsaw. Bicycles can be transported as accompanied luggage on Czech Railways trains (marked with the bicycle symbol), or in the storage carriage (marked with the suitcase symbol). Bicycles can be stored in the first or last door of the train set in special compartments of express, intercity, ordinary and fast trains without marking (2 bicycles at the most). Other bicycle transportation options Bicycles are also transported, for a fee, by boat, ferry, or chairlift. Boats and ferries usually transport bicycles for a fee. Czech Railways bike rental – ČD Bike You can rent a bicycle at selected railway stations in the Czech Railways rental, or have the bicycle transported for free on selected railway routes. Cycling buses Usually, if train services are unavailable, there are cycling buses. They can be used as ecological transport on regular seasonal lines in national parks, as well as in most Bohemian and Moravian regions. Also, the offer of international bus lines by RegioJet, Eurolines or Flixbus is quite broad. You are considered a driver even when riding a bicycle. That means that the zero tolerance for alcohol in blood applies as well. When planning a trip on the bicycle, or in the middle of a trip, as a cyclist you cannot drink alcohol.
