The medieval towns and flat plains interweaving with the cliffs and slopes of the highest Czech mountains. Discover the history, architecture and unique nature of two national parks: Bohemian Switzerland and Krkonoše, as well as the extinct volcanos of the Central Bohemian Highlands, or the Labe sandstone rock cities and gates. Visit historical settlements with fortresses, medieval walls, churches and synagogues, as well as modern cities with functionalistic architecture and rose gardens, military forts, the romantic chateaus and castles in Podkrkonoší, Polabí or the Bohemian Gate, where the river runs through the Labe valley. Try traditional crafts, take a train, boat or ferry, taste the fresh wine in one of the vineyards along the Labe River, and famous beers accompanied by unique Czech gastronomy. From Mělník, it takes one day to get to Prague along the connecting Vltava Cycle Route (50 km). Trip to the Labe Spring: the marked CT 2 trail officially ends in Vrchlabí, from where you can get to Špindlerův Mlýn. You can use the chairlift from Špindlerův Mlýn to Medvědín to transport your bicycle to the Labská meadow mountain ridge, and from there you can take the mountain road past Vrbatova Chalet to Labská Chalet, where you can put your bicycle in storage and hike to the Labe spring along the marked trail (1,386 m above the sea). Another option is to use the bus for cyclists from Vrchlabí.
